Plantation-grown Fijian mahogany — CITES-compliant, fully traceable·07739 386666

Proof, not promises

Responsible sourcing only counts if you can demonstrate it. Here is exactly how our Fijian timber is grown, governed and traced — and why ours is the source you can stand behind.

Tropical forest in Fiji

Plantation-grown, not wild-felled

Every timber we supply is grown on Fijian plantations established for the purpose — not cut from natural rainforest. Trees are grown to be harvested and replanted, so supply continues without depleting native forest.

CITES compliance & the FSC pathway

All our timber is CITES-compliant, ensuring legal provenance and traceability. Our Fijian mahogany is managed to FSC qualifying standards with formal certification currently in progress; Fiji's pine plantations have held FSC certification since 2013, and the wider sector is being brought up to standard through Fiji's new Interim Forest Stewardship Standard.

Full traceability & documentation

We can show where our timber comes from at every step — from the named plantation in Fiji, through processing and shipping, to the consignment you receive. Documentation travels with the order.

iTaukei landowner partnership

Fiji's plantations sit on land leased from Indigenous iTaukei landowners, whose rights and share of the value are protected through established trusts. Buying our timber supports those communities directly.

The Fiji context

A national standard, raising the bar

Fiji's forestry rests on exotic plantation species — principally Caribbean pine and mahogany, with a little teak — first trialled by the government before independence because they suited the islands' wet and dry zones.

In 2026 a new Interim Forest Stewardship Standard came into effect for Fiji, developed with the FSC, WWF, NatureFiji, the country's forestry bodies and its growers. It strengthens the framework for managing these forests well — for the environment, for workers, and for the iTaukei landowners whose land they grow on.

We source within that framework, and we keep the paperwork that proves it.
